Maasai Ceremonies and Rituals There are many ceremonies in Maasai society including Enkipaata senior boy ceremonyEmuratta circumcisionEnkiama marriageEunoto warrior-shaving ceremonyEokoto e-kule milk-drinking ceremonyEnkang oo-nkiri meat-eating ceremonyOlngesherr junior elder ceremonyetc. Traditionally, boys and girls must undergo through these initiations for minors prior to circumcision. Men will form age-sets moving them closer to adulthood.
There is no way to reach the village from Tanzania directly, as the roads connecting Serengeti Park in Tanzania and Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya are for the rangers use only.

You will need to find your way to Mara Bus station, which is about m away. There are frequently bus company representatives at the gas station that will try and sell you a seat on their bus and then take you to the bus station. Before committing, ask to see the bus.
You can insist on just getting directions.
When you get to the bus station there are often several buses, you may want to try and get the first departing bus. The last bus departs at around 2pm. James and his guides will come out to meet you, help you with your luggage and show you into the village. These hours on a local matatu may be more insightful than you can ever imagine.
